I am a lifelong Saint Louis resident and a science teacher in the Rockwood School District. I have been keeping fish on and off since I was in middle school. In 2014 I dug my old 20-gallon aquarium out of my mom’s basement and set it up in my small Dogtown apartment. In 2015 an old oak stand for a 55-gallon tank found its way into my possession and I began designing and building custom tanks for my home and my classroom. In addition, as a science teacher I accumulated my share of cast off tanks and equipment over the years. I got the idea for Upcycled Aquatics StL at the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic when I was looking for ways to occupy myself during quarantine and began fixing up some of those old tanks for sale in order to keep from getting bored. I launched upcycledaquaticsstl.com in the winter of 2020-2021 in order to showcase my work, generate more per-request business and keep my inventory low because my basement is tiny. Please feel free to browse as many of the photos, videos and articles that you like, share them with your friends, and get in touch if there is any work that I can do for you!

Warm regards,

Matt
